webOS for smart TV by LG…!!


WebOS is Linux based operating system.
Which is used for smart TVs and formerly a mobile operating system.

This system was developed by Palm and then it was acquired by Hewlett-Packard (HP)
This operating system was later sold to LG Electronics.

The official name has been renamed as webOS.

LG Electronics acquired webOS from HP in February 2013.

LG want to enhance their smart TVs with the help of that OS.

As HP decided to sell the rights of WebOS to LG.
LG steps unexpected move by announcing that they are using that OS for LG smart TV’s.

LG’s first TV which is running on WebOS

TV comes with YouTube, Skype, AccuWeather, vTuner and Twitter
apps preinstalled along with a web browser and other

TV going to announce officially at CES.
